About our Chef
Chef Dotti is a Manchester, CT native and spent many years in the insurance industry before turning her dream in reality and opened Brown Sugar Catering, LLC. Her foundation for cooking was laid in her family kitchen where she learned her mother and grandmothers’ secrets. She has many fond memories of staying in the kitchen and cooking with them and building her foundation and love for cooking and baking.
These amazing women were the ones who taught her about using fresh ingredients and baking from scratch. She continues to carry on the traditions of not only cooking/baking from scratch, but grows and cans her own vegetables fruits, relishes and preserves. She added on to this knowledge by attending the CT Culinary Institute where she graduated as a pastry chef. Chef Dotti’s retail experience was gained from local bakeries, supermarkets and restaurants.
In addition to owning and operating Brown Sugar Catering, LLC, Chef Dotti has provided culinary demonstrations to local high school classes, nursing homes and private in-home lessons. She also volunteers for her church and serves on the Board of Directors of My Sister’s Place and currently serves as Vice President and is active in other local non-profit organizations.
Recreation time for Chef Dotti includes reading a good book, sewing or knitting. She also looks forward to her yearly vacation with her husband in the Caribbean and spending time with family and friends.
